This is a significant moment for steelworker pensioners. I’m pleased so many MPs from steelmaking areas recognise the importance of this.

.@grantshapps has repeatedly refused to meet @SadiqKhan about a long-term funding deal for @TfL.

Rather than meeting with @RMTunion to prevent the #ToryRailStrikes, he's instead spent the time making cringeworthy TikTok's and fuelling the flames of a culture war against unions.

“While we can relatively easily restore numbers, the decades of experience we’ve lost is not so easily recovered – that’s among skilled professionals in the #police, the #probation service and among #prison officers” warns @grahamemorris @PFEW_HQ @Napo_News @POAUnion (9/10)

“The decision to close 164 out of 320 magistrates courts since 2010 is clearly not helping the backlog” @grahamemorris points out, warning Govt is “undermining the quality & quantity of community sentences” but at least accepts privatising #probation was wrong @PCSMOJNOMS (8/10)

“There are some issues within our #prison system regarding the lack of #rehabilitation & the unsafe work environment for those who work in the Prison Service” warns @grahamemorris – “not just prison officers but prison educators & others” @POAUnion @ucuprisoned #SafeInside (7/10)

Intervening, @grahamemorris insists: “On this side of the House, we really do appreciate the work #probation officers do” – adding that he hopes the Government “will recognise the value of probation officers in the current pay talks” @Napo_News (6/10)

Former shadow minister @lynbrownmp points out: “Good, valued #probation staff – they’re not just an early warning system about one individual who may well, or is going off the rails, but they are agents of hope, and of healing and of personal change” @Napo_News (5/10)

Kicking off Labour’s debate on Community Payback, @elliereeves insists short #prison sentences “only create more hardened criminals … because our prisons have become colleges of crime” – highlighting how “last year assaults on prison staff went up by a fifth” @POAUnion (1/10)

Instead of trying to resolve the rail dispute the Tories are using it as another excuse to attack trade unions my piece for @LabourList

We have the most expensive rail tickets in Europe. Why? Well it's not the workers wages. It's because the rail companies gave away £800m in dividends and shares in the last year!

My pay is decided by the members via our conference. They can change it at anytime.

I challenge any CEO in the UK to let their staff vote on how much they should be paid.

Most of them wouldn’t warrant minimum wage.

Despite the best efforts of the fab #radiotherapy workforce we know many cancer patients are facing delays in treatment. We need the decision-makers to understand what this means for those impacted by these delays. If you can help please get in contact. Please share and RT.

The latest offer from @arrivayorkshire was a regurgitated offer. @unitetheunion members have rejected this offer twice. We made counter claims and the company failed to address these. Come back round the table and #PayUpArriva

The train operating companies had a good pandemic. At the height of Covid, between March 2020 and April 2022, the train operating companies and their owners made nearly £300 million in profits

🚆 @jeremycorbyn is absolutely right. Rail privatisation has been a disaster for the public.

It's time to bring the WHOLE railway into public hands!

We've just released £10 tickets for our BIG Comedy Night on 12th July!
£10 tickets for RMT/CWU/GMB/Unite/DiEM25 members, NHS workers and low earners...

NEW: The threat to close railway ticket offices is escalating, as @BorisJohnson voices support for the plan.

The closures would be devastating for disabled people's access rights, and increase confusion and expense for all passengers.

A serious government ends austerity & wage freezes ensuring nurses are not using foodbanks.
A serious government tackles rogue employers who have created Victorian style poverty through poor working conditions.
A serious government represents the many not the few.

“I'm not going to listen to a Lord, who probably won't know the business end of a shovel, telling my members about being modern when they're working 24 hour shifts.”

- @RMTunion’s Eddie Dempsey

British Airways exploited the pandemic to slash the pay of their loyal staff by 10%.

GMB members at Heathrow just want to be paid properly for the work that they do, and they're ready to strike for it.

@British_Airways, it's not too late to save the summer holidays. 🛫

Solidarity to all ⁦@RMTunion⁩ members today fighting for their terms and conditions, job security, pensions and a cost of living pay rise. The entire trade union movement are behind you.⁩

🚆 Last year, train companies paid out almost £800m to shareholders then told rail unions that workers must take a real-terms pay cut.

This is disgraceful. It’s time to build a rail network that serves people, not profit.

Solidarity @RMTunion✊

⚠️ Ticket office closures will be devastating to disabled people's right to travel. Station destaffing is the inevitable next step, almost certainly leading to breaches of equality law.

@johnpringdns @mseyates @anniebtransport @manuel_tssa

💥 BREAKING: GMB members employed by @British_Airways at Heathrow have voted to strike over a 10% pandemic pay cut

Whether they’re in Westminster Hall, County Hall or the Town Hall the Tories are completely out of step with our people and communities.

They’re a spent force, a toxic brand that no one but diehard loyalists or cowardly sycophants will support.

Their time is up.

Boris Johnson now blaming the by-election results on the cost of living crisis. So nothing to do with him overseeing widespread criminality in Downing Street, breaking domestic & international law, ignoring the rule of law & serially lying to the public & Parliament

Good to see so much support for the #sheffield @RMTunion picket today.

With inflation hitting 9% I know that rail workers & people everywhere are struggling - all while profits for companies have soared.

It’s time to end the #CostOfLivingCrisis & give workers a proper pay rise.

I was proud to bring a debate to the floor of the House on plans for mass DWP office closures.
The announcement means that thousands of staff now face the risk of redundancy. UKGovt must scrap these closures. @pcs_union
