Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (@LGSMpride), an alliance of lesbians and gay men who supported the National Union of Mineworkers during the strike of 1984–1985, was formed #OnThisDay 1984. By the end of the strike, 11 LGSM groups had emerged throughout the UK.

HMRC is failing to use third-party data to investigate how much tax is being evaded through offshore assets.

Either Ministers are content for the super-rich to evade paying their fair share, or they will direct HMRC to use this data to uncover tax evaders.

Which is it?

"The dam of lies and smears is broken" - West Derby's @IanByrneMP responds after the French interior minister apologised to "everyone who suffered from bad management" at the #ChampionsLeagueFinal.

Gerald Darmanin hasn't said sorry for claims of 'industrial scale ticket fraud'

Workers are the true wealth creators, but don't get a fair share of the rewards.

The Government's political choice to supress workers' wages instead of taxing executive pay packets and excess profits shows whose side they are on.

I have written to @pritipatel following reports of migrant workers being charged thousands in illegal fees by unscrupulous recruitment agents.

It is no surprise that the billionaire-owned press want to demonise organised workers and attack the democratic right to strike.

City MPs Dan Carden, Paula Barker, Kim Johnson and Ian Byrne were among a group identified by the Daily Mail

Britain is in the grip of an employment crisis, with 1.3 million job vacancies.

I asked the Government to set out a plan to address the labour shortages across our economy.

None was forthcoming.

This morning colleagues and I joined @RMTunion rail workers on the picket line. We proud to support their fight to defend jobs, pay and conditions.

I'm showing FIVE to highlight that 5 million people in Great Britain are currently dealing with the effects of a loved one's drinking, drug use or gambling.

Today is #Tourettessyndromeawarenessday and throughout we will be highlighting different aspects of it and our service for people with the condition. This is Dr Macerollo and Dr Da Costa explaining what it is... @tourettesaction #ThisIsTourettes #ItsNotWhatYouThink #Tourettes

On a sunny afternoon in Clubmoor, I spoke with Broadway shop owners about the many challenges facing our high street businesses and what support retailers need from Government.

Lovely to catch up with @subensoncarson and the Bridge Community Centre team, too.

I am proud to be hosting a screening of 'Will Young: Losing My Twin Rupert' in Parliament as part of @Adfam #FamiliesAwarenessWeek2022.

The documentary follows Will as he tells the story of his twin brother Rupert’s battle with alcohol addiction.

I have written to @JimHarraHMRC following alarming reports that HMRC is failing to investigate how much tax is being evaded through offshore assets.

Turning a blind eye to the £570bn of UK wealth hidden in tax havens would be a dereliction of duty.

My question to Govt about what they are doing to defend @LFC fans from #Hillsborough like slurs from UEFA & French Govt following Champion's League final chaos & when we might see their response to Bishop James 2017 report into lessons of Hboro #J4T97 #YNWA

Full of admiration for community champions like Anfield resident Margie who are passionate about making our neighbourhoods the best they can be.

It was great to catch up about a range of local issues, which I'll be taking up along with local councillors and community officers.

Byrnes Fish and Chips opened in 1932. It continued serving during the Second World War. It survived the 1980s slump, the financial crash and Covid.

But faced with the #CostOfLivingCrisis, it is one of many local, independent businesses at risk of going under without support.

The odds of alcohol dependency among LGBT people are around twice as high compared to the general population. The UK urgently needs to do more to prevent alcohol harm for all.

@DanCardenMP's powerful speech from last year tells of his own struggles ⬇️

There can be no justification for the Government's continued refusal to enshrine a #CareSupporter in law.

As shown by my letter with @tracey_crouch, @libdemdaisy & @LSRPlaid signed by 60 MPs, there is clear cross-party support for this change. It is time for Ministers to act.

Thank you to constituents who contacted me to share their harrowing experiences at the #UCLfinal in Paris, some of which I raised in Parliament yesterday.

I am proud of the Liverpool fans who protected each other and worked together to avoid tragedy.

Today in Parliament I shared some of the harrowing experiences endured by my constituents at the #UCLfinal in Paris.

I asked the Government what it will do to ensure that the promised investigations get to the truth of what happened.

Last year, @DanCardenMP took the brave step of discussing his struggles with alcohol in a House of Commons speech. Since then, he’s become a passionate campaigner for better #alcoholtreatment, an end to #stigma and the power of #recovery communities: http://ow.ly/5yBn50Jm3VK

.@YPASLiverpool offer a mental health crisis drop-in service.

This is open to all young people and parents/carers in Liverpool. No appointment is needed.

If you need support, please drop in.

#MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone

Huge thanks to Deborah Tyfield and her @LivLawClinic volunteer students for supporting my constituents with free legal advice on #SEND cases.

I'm proud to work with so many fantastic organisations to expand #AccessToJustice for people in Liverpool Walton and beyond.

This week @IanByrneMP has been the voice of Liverpool and football supporters across the country.

The relevant authorities must be held to account for the awful scenes at the #UCLfinal and the chillingly familiar knee-jerk lies about Liverpool fans.

Passport Office backlogs are causing huge disruption and anxiety for my constituents, including those who need to travel to care for ill relatives abroad.

I asked the Government for a plan and timescale to support staff, resolve issues and expedite the most urgent cases.

Thank you @DDNMagazine for highlighting some of the work I have been doing alongside other fantastic supporters of #recovery communities.

The events of last night have increased the anxiety levels and flashbacks of many who were at Hillsborough. We feared another tragedy and hearing many stories it's a miracle no one was killed. Please get in touch if you need to talk

A total of 573 new billionaires have emerged during the pandemic. Against the backdrop of a #CostOfLivingCrisis, combined billionaire wealth has soared to $12.7tn, according to Forbes, equivalent to 13.9% of global GDP, and a threefold increase from 2000.

What do integrity, objectivity, accountability, transparency, and honesty have in common?

They're all words Boris Johnson just deleted from his foreword to the ministerial code.

Draw your own conclusions.

Migrant workers are being charged thousands in illegal fees by unscrupulous recruitment agents, @TBIJ and @guardian investigation reveals.

The Home Office must close gaping holes in labour enforcement that are leaving workers vulnerable to exploitation.

Pleasure to be joined by @wallyhallpark for @FieldsInTrust's green space index event.

With the support of @IanByrneMP and my office, Chrisie and Liverpool Parks Friends Groups helped secure the pioneering agreement with @lpoolcouncil to protect our city's #GreenSpacesForGood.

Yesterday we celebrated the return of @TheBrinkLpool – Liverpool’s pioneering dry-bar, social hub and safe space.

Our city can’t afford to lose this hub again.

So please, try the great food and drink and show your support to a place that saves so many lives.

On Tuesday 24 May, @EITC will be at Goodison Park where they’ll be kicking off SCORE, a programme which aims to support young people pursue careers in the health and social care industry.

Loved to be there at the re-opening of @BrinkLiverpool - Liverpool's only dry bar - tonight with @ForwardTrust & my colleague @DanCardenMP. Moving and brave stories of their recovery journey from Caroline & Andy and an amazing team. Fabulous organisation.

Such an emotional & uplifting morning with @DanCardenMP & his wonderful family celebrating the launch of Mike Carden’s defining book on the Liverpool dockers dispute in the @CasaLiverpool today.
So many moving, uplifting & sobering stories & reflections on Mike & the dispute.✊❤️

I am delighted that my Queen’s Speech amendment calling for a #RightToFood received 51 signatures, the most of any amendment. The signatures calling for a Right To Food are those of MPs from across the House: Labour, Green, Plaid, SNP, Alba & Alliance.

Great to catch up with @fightingwpride. The Government’s review into the impact of the pre-2000 ban on homosexual personnel in the military was announced in January and little progress has been made. LGBT Veterans have waited long enough for justice.

.@DanCardenMP tells
@RishiSunak a constituent in Liverpool has disconnected herself from the gas mains because she fears high bills. Sunak says he's happy to talk to the woman directly.
That could be an interesting conversation.
