For over a year, I've raised the problems caused by a lack of Government support for NHS dentistry.

It's now a crisis for dentists & patients in St Helens North & across the country. And still no action from Ministers or a plan to fix it 👇

Today I had the honour of welcoming very special guests including the legend Mal Meninga to #StHelens and the @twstadium, home of @Saints1890 & host to 3 exciting men’s games in this year’s @RLWC2021.

#RugbyLeague is in our DNA here, and I can’t wait for October

I was very proud today that the Irish tricolour flew alongside the Union flag at Westminster to welcome Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann, Seán Ó Fearghaíl, to the Houses of Parliament.

Many thanks to Mr Speaker Hoyle @CommonsSpeaker for his commitment to British-Irish relations.

My thoughts are with Marie McCourt & her family.

They haven't been able to lay Helen to rest. They should never have had to see her killer released.

Even now, if anyone has information that could help locate Helen's remains, please come forward.

A fully regenerated Parkside has potential to drive investment, jobs & growth across St Helens and the wider region.

It was good to have Liverpool City Region Freeport chair, Tom O'Brien visit the site & see its progress.

The chair of Liverpool City Region Freeport Thomas O'Brien saw first hand the development opportunities that Parkside will deliver for the borough and beyond as a key Freeport site in the region.

The Tories now face a credible Labour party: a government-in-waiting with a plan to deliver on the country’s demands.

We will not shy away from that responsibility, duck those challenges or fail to grasp the opportunities our country has.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jun/26/labour-has-now-claimed-the-centre-ground-and-has-shown-it-can-win

Under the Tories, the UK is the only G7 country hiking taxes in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

Labour would scrap the national insurance hike and cut taxes for small businesses now.

For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies.

Today, that right was stolen from us.

And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.

If you hear @BorisJohnson talk about jobs today at #pmqs, it is quite likely to be nonsense:

Because our Welsh Labour Government reached a deal with rail workers, unions, and operators, Transport for Wales staff aren’t striking today.

But our rail network is still in a state of chaos, because Boris Johnson and Grant Shapps refuse to come to the table and do the same.

The rail strike this week will be devastating for workers, passengers, and the economy.

And the Tory government isn’t lifting a finger to resolve it.

Sign our petition and tell the Tories to do their job to avoid the strike. ✍️

Burglaries not solved

Frauds not investigated

Rapes not prosecuted

After 12 yrs of Tory Govt the charge rate on crime has sunk to a record low.

This Government’s record on crime is a disgrace. Crime up. More criminals let off & more victims let down

Congratulations @Vernon_Coaker on being conferred the distinction of Honorary Freeman of Gedling Borough.

The Borough’s highest award bestowed on one of its most distinguished & finest public servants.

Thank you for a lifetime dedicated to Gedling. You’re an example to us all.

Shadow Chancellor @RachelReevesMP addressing our Annual Meeting and calling for the Tories to make way for a Labour government with the ideas to tackle the cost of living crisis and the integrity the Tories lack

Only Labour has a long-term plan to tackle the cost of living crisis for people across St Helens North & Britain. We’d 👇

✅ Increase renewable & nuclear energy production
✅ Insulate 19m homes
✅ Increase onshore & offshore wind capacity
✅ Triple solar power
✅ Cut bills

President Higgins today met @Keir_Starmer discussing Brexit, war in Europe, the global food crisis, multilateralism, Northern Ireland, the need for cross-community respect and generosity of vision & the importance of understanding history rather than using it in a divisive way.

It is #BikeWeek2022.

It's great for the mind & body to get on the bike, and I love cycling along Sankey Valley with our kids & seeing the changing seasons & wildlife.

As we invest in local cycle routes, it's never been better to get out on two wheels 🚲

On #CarersWeek we recognise the over 6.5m unpaid carers across St Helens North & Britain, plus those like @StHelensCarers who help them.

Their contribution is huge. But often, so are the challenges they face.

I'll keep fighting for the support they need.

Good luck to Rainford’s Jamie Leahey and his puppet Chuck in the #BritainsGotTalent final tonight. Everyone in St Helens is rooting for you! https://www.sthelensstar.co.uk/news/20187677.britains-got-talent-final-st-helens-rooting-jamie-leahey/

I joined the Bishop of Warrington & our Mayor for the civic Service of Thanksgiving in St Helens to celebrate HM The Queen’s #PlatinumJubilee.

Thank you to Revd Rachel, the brass band & everyone at the Parish Church - it was a lovely event which did the town & borough proud.

Labour called for a windfall tax in January. The Conservatives adopted it in May.

Their dithering and delay has cost struggling households millions more in energy bills every day.

Britain deserves better than this incompetence.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 I hope everyone in St Helens North can enjoy time with family & friends over this special #PlatinumJubilee Bank Holiday Weekend.

🇬🇧 There are lots of events taking place across the borough to celebrate The Queen’s remarkable 70 years of service.

#QAVS2022 The Friends of St Helens Cemetery are honoured to announce they have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services. A truly magnificent achievement for our volunteers especially in this our Queens Platinum Jubilee year.

On #VolunteersWeek, I want to pay tribute to our volunteers in St Helens Borough.

Our community will always be grateful.

ICYMI: As leaders in St Helens, we’re already getting on with the job of improving local people's lives & addressing the challenges facing our towns, villages & city region.

I wish the Government would do more to help.

But if they won't, we’ll just continue to do it ourselves.

ICYMI: The shops at Wythburn Crescent & Bassenthwaite Avenue are a focal point & at the heart of the Moss Bank community.

I welcome @WeAreTorus' commitment to rebuild & restore these key sites, which I hope people will soon be able to make use of again.

Excellently led by @merpolchiefcon, Merseyside Police are delivering on the things that matter to people in St Helens Borough & Merseyside.

These brave men & women put themselves in harm's way to keep us safe every day.

They'll always have my thanks, admiration & full support.

ICYMI: I enjoyed my visit to @OutwoodHaydock last week, with Year 8 pupils asking me some fantastic questions about politics, democracy & my work in our local area.

They were a huge credit to our community & their school.

Rishi Sunak’s priorities are all wrong.

It’s time to stop the dithering and take action now.

Labour’s plan for a windfall tax on oil and gas profits would cut bills by up to £600.

ICYMI: Tory Ministers think that our people taking on longer hours or changing jobs will get them through this cruel cost of living crisis.

They’re totally out of touch – and out of ideas.
