Rest in peace Deborah James. What an incredible, fierce, bright and brilliant woman. An absolutely extraordinary campaigner. Thank you for your rebellious hope and the millions you have inspired @bowelbabe Thinking of your many loved ones ♥️

Tory Ministers & MPs trying to silence women for pointing out their appalling record on convicting rapists, is as low as it gets.

The only people who should apologise for the failure to prosecute criminals and failure to give victims justice is this Government. #VAWG

Now British Airways should do the same - restore the pay of your loyal workforce which is rightfully theirs, and settle this dispute.

And then Tory Ministers should finally ban shameful fire and rehire for good, so no workforce is ever put in this position again.

Trades Union Congress @The_TUC

Unite WIN 🚨: 'Game-changing' pay deal secured for Heathrow cabin crew. 👏

Today I called for the Chancellor to pay at least the real living wage for all those who work for government - including contractors.

He refused.

The Tories are choosing to trap people in poverty pay as the cost of living crisis worsens.

Working people deserve so much better.

Grant Shapps wants to give the green light to another P&O scandal. We’ll oppose his reckless gamble with public safety.

Labour’s New Deal for Working People will bring in real protections and banish bullying fire and rehire tactics.

Months of waiting for a passport or driving licence.

Travel plans disrupted.

Hospital appointment and court dates delayed.

This is Backlog Britain - and it's the result of 12 years of Tory mismanagement of our economy.

Britain deserves better.

Instead of trying to resolve the rail dispute the Tories are using it as another excuse to attack trade unions my piece for @LabourList

Businesses, agency worker bodies and working people don’t want the Tory Government to scrap the agency worker ban. It’ll be unworkable. So the Government now picks another unnecessary fight combining attacking Senedd law and eroding legal rights in Wales.

"The government's move to replace skilled and safety-critical workers on strike is deliberately inflammatory. It is also a reckless threat to public safety," writes @justinmadders as proposals for breaking strikes using agency workers are published:

Under the Tories' inflation crisis, working people are facing the biggest pay cut in years.

They have every right to fight for a fair pay rise and decent conditions.

Working people must not pay the price for Tory failure.

Louise Haigh @LouHaigh

Rail workers kept our country going during the pandemic.

They deserve fair pay and respect.

Grant Shapps should get around the table with them and resolve this dispute.

Because our @WelshLabour Government reached a deal with rail workers, unions, and operators, Transport for Wales staff have not been on strike.

But our rail network is still in a state of chaos, because @BorisJohnson and @GrantShapps refuse to come to the table and do the same.

A privilege to meet up with veterans at Denton Civic Square this lunchtime.

Today is a chance for us to pause and recognise the sacrifices of our armed forces - and the huge contribution they make to our communities each and every day. #ArmedForcesDay

Today on #ArmedForcesDay, we celebrate the special service our UK Forces personnel, veterans, and their families give to our country.

From helping Britain through Covid to keeping us safe and protecting our NATO allies, Labour is deeply proud of you. Thank you.

Under the Tories, the UK is the only G7 country hiking taxes in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

Labour would scrap the national insurance hike and cut taxes for small businesses now.

This is a devastating step backwards for women's rights in the United States.

Every woman who needs one should have the right to a safe and legal abortion.

Solidarity with every woman affected by this cruel decision.

People have the lowest consumer confidence in 50 years.

This is what happens when an out of touch Tory government increases taxes on working people, squeezes wages, and has no plan to get the economy back on track.

Angela Rayner has written to Simon Case demanding that he explain whether he was involved in looking for jobs for Carrie.

The latest in the Carrie CV saga - Rayner says there are “serious questions…about potentially impropriety and conflict of interest”.

NEW - Simon Case denies reports he sought a role for Carrie Johnson with the Cambridges’ Earthshot Prize; but admits he had an informal chat on her behalf, “as I would have done for anyone with relevant experience who was keen to get involved in charity work”.

I'm so proud of the incredible support that you have all given me throughout this campaign. Thank you.

Polls are open until 10pm tonight. May sure you cast your vote.

You can find your polling station here:

As well as a useless Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps is a danger to public safety.

Temps operating 25,000-volt rail control centres or 140mph train signals?

He’s learned nothing from the safety failings and grounded vessels of the P&O scandal.

Why can’t he just do his job?

Just six weeks ago Ministers feigned outrage at the illegal and unsafe decision to replace P&O workers with agency staff.

Now they’re adopting their playbook.

This senseless plan is a recipe for disaster.

Tory Govt rushing out law to let agency workers replace striking workers.
Untrained workers will drive trains, fly planes and run nuclear power stations.
All to deny workers the right to strike and increase capital's share of GDP.
I'll vote against this.

Working people's wages are being squeezed, squeezed and squeezed again, while those at the top take home huge pay packets.

We'll take no lectures from the Tories about not demanding our fair share.

*Working people deserve a proper payrise.*

Polls are open. Today is the day!

Your vote could boot Boris out of Downing St and deliver a fresh start for Wakefield.

Don’t miss your chance.

Polls are open until 10pm and you don’t need your polling card or ID to vote.

Find your polling station:

The body representing 3,000 agency companies wants no part in replacing safety-critical rail workers and hasn't even been consulted.

Operation of 25,000-volt control centres or 140mph train signals by temps? Really?

Bad for workers, business and public.

This is a Tory recipe for disaster⚠️

Not just undermining pay, rights and conditions, but risking public safety and ripping up ministers’ own words.

They’ve learned nothing from the P&O scandal, which led to safety failures and grounding of vessels.

The Tories promised higher wages and levelling-up. But they’ve done nothing to make that a reality.

Inflation hit 9.1% in May. Working people face the fastest fall in pay in years.

Labour has a plan to drive up pay, transform workers' rights and deliver good working conditions.

Wales has a different approach when it comes to industrial relations.

Our social partnership model brings people around the table to discuss rather than argue. It finds solutions rather than creating division.

The Windrush generation helped build Britain.

But the Tories' hostile environment left many homeless, jobless and without healthcare. Victims are still waiting for the justice and compensation they deserve.

Windrush descendent @DavidLammy tells their story. #WindrushDay

NEW: Inflation up at 9.1% today.

Inflation is pushing family finances to the brink - but the low wage spiral many face isn’t new.

It’s a result of a decade of Tory mismanagement of our economy.

Labour will build the high wage, high growth, stable inflation economy we deserve.

It’s a full time job dealing with the sleaze engulfing Boris Johnson’s Conservatives.

Only when we backed them into a corner did they confirm they’ll appoint a new ethics watchdog at all - after the last two walked out on him in disgust.

Now they need to pull their finger out.

Because our Welsh Labour Government reached a deal with rail workers, unions, and operators, Transport for Wales staff aren’t striking today.

But our rail network is still in a state of chaos, because Boris Johnson and Grant Shapps refuse to come to the table and do the same.
