Delighted to launch & become Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Central Bank & Digital Currency. Focusing on interoperability, international regulated digital currencies not virtual crypto. Variety of legal models needed to help prevent economic crime.
Proud to support Armed Forces Day in #Stevenage - huge thanks to all the amazing groups taking part & @StevenageBC for organising. We must always support our veterans & those who put themselves in harms way to protect our way of life @PoppyLegion
The daily toxic abuse on social media is just seen as part of the job. Sadly for many of my female colleagues, in particular, it is beyond vile & disgusting. If you said it in a workplace you would be sacked. #MoreInCommon
👋 Thank you @SMcPartland for your support! #MoreInCommon
Join the Great Get Together this weekend ⬇️
Always enjoy the chance to get a cup of tea in Stevenage indoor market between meetings. Will be back later for my haircut! Another jam packed day of visits & meetings listening to local people & businesses. Best part of being the MP is being part of our amazing community.
Sad to see Labour backing the strikes & joining picket lines to stop patients getting to NHS appointments & pupils to exams. Putting politics before working families who are stressed out just trying to get to work! 😤
This week I'm proud to support #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek! Cervical screening (smear tests) can save lives, but in our area 1 in 4 do not attend when invited. If you have any questions or concerns, @JoTrust have information, tips, and support for you!
Unpaid carers provided crucial support to friends and family members throughout the pandemic, often without any time out for themselves. It is important that their efforts are recognised, & that they are now given the support they need to care safely & well for their loved ones.
I wish I could say I was shocked by this 👇 Sadly, Labour’s strikes prove once again that they don’t care about ordinary working people - playing politics is always more important to them than actually helping working families 😡
A global cost of living crisis, over £37billion Govt support for families, much more to do as we build back better from Covid & Labour’s response is to stop workers getting to work! Unbelievable 🤦♂️
Great to catch up with Chief Inspector of Stevenage Police to go through a range of issues together. It may not always be perfect, but we are very lucky to have such a committed team working hard to keep our community safe. @hertspolice
Great to catch up with @HertsPolice Cadets & Kaotic Angels, who do so much in our community. Win at the @ForeverHoundsUK stall & chill out with Ben as we both take a breather at Labrador Rescue 🐶
Lots of fun at Stevenage DogWatch Doggie Fun Day. Plenty of stalls, events and agility course for our four legged friends 🐶
For as long as our Ukrainian allies have the courage to fight, we must have the will to support them. Putin must fail.
Thank you my friend President @ZelenskyyUa for hosting me in Ukraine yesterday.
It was incredibly moving to walk the streets of Kyiv with you once more, to pay tribute to your fallen soldiers whose sacrifice, unconquerable courage and bravery we will never forget.
The planned rail strikes are a betrayal of local people. They are designed to cause maximum chaos & hardship for working families & businesses as we try to rebuild from covid. Labour won’t condemn their Union paymasters & putting jobs at risk instead. https://action.conservatives.com/stop-the-strikes/
It is astonishing that a European Court has overriden our domestic courts. Brexit was supposed to stop this & put us in charge of our own borders. (1/2)
Forty years ago today Argentine forces surrendered & the Falklands War ended. Today we remember all those who liberated the Falkland Islands. We must never forget the sacrifices they made for people to live free @PoppyLegion
Today, on the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands Conflict, we remember the 255 members of service personnel who died to protect the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.
Today marks five years since the tragic events at Grenfell Tower. Too many leaseholders still live in fear their buildings are not safe. We must move from rhetoric to real action as we protect leaseholders & tackle the #BuildingSafetyCrisis @GrenfellUnited @EOCS_Official @ukcag
We have pumped £37 Billion out to help directly with the cost of living. I will listen to you as always & make sure we are heard, so the Government continues to back local families. I will be at your side whatever happens.
We will back Britain and we will back the British people for as long as it takes.
Could not resist the sweets or saying hello to my good friends at Stevenage Indoor Market. There all year around for us & always go the extra mile to help our community.
Lots of amazing community groups at #Stevenage Day & brilliant to see Stevenage-Filipino British community. Look forward to our follow up in @HouseofCommons
Always one of my favourite stalls promoting Stevenage Festival of the Arts. The events are incredible with so much talent but include our whole community. Inspirational 👏
Great fun and lots of energy. Look forward to visiting the school soon 👍
Great to see @SMcPartland showing his support to @AshtreeSchool PTA stand at #stevenageday
It is gearing up to be an amazing #Stevenage Day. So many stalls, activities, events, music, food & lots of great charities to support. Weather is glorious and atmosphere is already bouncing. Come & enjoy the day.
Always so much to do and so much fun at #Datchworth Village fete. Lots of activities for children & adults, car show, events, live entertainment & amazing food.
It was pretty cool that this flypast happened just as #Datchworth village fete was opening - surely not a coincidence😉
Great atmosphere at #Knebworth fete, live music, fun stalls & proud to be helping @GuideDogsSG1 @guidedogs raise money. Looking forward to #Datchworth fete next
Listened to Mary & Julie explain the realities of being an #UnpaidCarer for people living with #MND @carersweek @mndcampaigns
I will always campaign for more support for those with #MND & their families. Delighted @BorisJohnson pledged £50 million last year to help find a cure
This #VolunteersWeek, I’ve been proud to celebrate the unstoppable volunteers, befrienders, mentors, drivers, gardeners, mental health supporters, #YouthSocialAction ambassadors and so many others for all that they do. Thank you. @volunteering_uk
I disagreed with @BorisJohnson & voted against lockdown due to devastating impact on mental health. He was our best hope, got big calls right & vaccines. I will support him as we tackle the cost of living crisis. #Letthepeopledecide if he should remain PM when there is a GE
Lots of people in our area are getting involved in celebrating the Platinum Jubilee. Her Majesty The Queen is the first monarch to celebrate such a historic moment. Bunting, balloons, cakes & street parties - look closely at my friend’s house & Her Majesty seems to approve 🇬🇧👑
There are so many events and ways to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's amazing service. This was one of my favourites at Fairlands Primary School. They even had the children using the original Coronation Maypole. A lot of amusement greeted my efforts at making a crown 🇬🇧👑
Unbelievable it has now been 101 days of Russian aggression. We must continue our support as #Putin must fail. Slava Ukraini 🇬🇧🇺🇦
In the 100 days since Putin’s barbaric invasion, Ukrainians have fought back with supreme courage and dignity.
Our support for Ukraine will never waver until Ukrainians enjoy the peace and freedom that their heroism deserves.
The bunting is up for 4 days of street parties, the excitement is building, & a beacon will be lit tonight in Stevenage to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen. The first Monarch in British history to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
👑 #PlatinumJubilee weekend
Huge thanks to @NCCGroupplc for showing me some of the amazing work they do to keep the UK cyber safe. I want to do more to protect individuals & small businesses from the scourge of cyber crime. Incredibly corrosive but victims often overlooked.
We've had a great morning in our Manchester office today with a visit from @SMcPartland to discuss how industry and policymakers can work together to make the UK cyber resilient.
PENSION CREDIT UPDATE: There are already 1,644 claimants in Stevenage but more people are eligible for an average of £3,300 a year in extra support. Check if you qualify http://www.gov.uk/pension-credit or Freephone Pension Credit claim line 0800 99 1234
I have been briefed by @HertsPolice about the tragic news an 18 year old was murdered last night in Stevenage by another young person after a dispute. Police already have the suspect in custody & my thoughts are with the families as 2 young lives ruined.
Lots of support has been announced to help with the cost of living pressures, but I know more needs to be done.
I would like to see the Government instruct Ofgem to keep the energy price cap in place and stop it rising in October.
Great news for Stevenage! @HistoricEngland has listed at Grade II the tiled mural at Primark (the former Co-Operative House) & the ‘Scenes of Contemporary Life’ mural at Park Place underpass. These vibrant artworks are now protected for the future.
Brilliant to see the amazing work my team do to support me being directly recognised by local people. I am so proud our team makes a difference to so many families every single day.
Great catch up with @SophieLB1 to discuss how we turn the amazing success we had for leaseholders in legislation, into actual practical support for each building. The campaign will continue until all our buildings are safe & leaseholders protected @ukcag @EOCS_Official
Always happy to help and huge thanks to my team who help me support so many people every day.
The passport is finally here! It took close to 12 wks, a lot of stress & tears. There were daily calls and emails to the passport office and I got my MP @SMcPartland involved who alongside his case worker Chelsea was super helpful. So relieved it’s finally here and I can relax!
I am campaigning to keep the energy price cap in place to help family finances. Read my letter to @ofgem below asking if there are any legal barriers to prevent the Government doing this.
Absolutely delighted @RoyalMail Stevenage delivery depot fleet is going green! Over 100 vehicles are now fully electric - more than 95% & plans to complete the rest shortly. I was very proud to launch the fleet & take a drive - 👀👇
Excellent news MBDA UK has won the #NAREW competition to supply Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa with a CAMM-based Polish air defence missile system. It supports local skills & jobs in Stevenage & Polish armed forces will now be operating the same air defence missiles as the UK @byMBDA
Pleased to become a member of the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy @JointCtteNSS
Great news that England will be hosting the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup and the opportunity it represents in growing the game and inspiring women and girls to get involved in their local rugby clubs such as @DatchworthRugby #RWC2025 @EnglandRugby

We’re down at the Station pub, #Knebworth this morning in aid of @guidedogs raising funds for a brilliant local charity. Lots of dogs, cakes & treats.
Charity @CatsProtection has uncovered some shocking truths about online kitten selling and is calling for regulation of cat breeding to help protect cats and kittens. Sign the petition and watch their new documentary, The Big Kitten Con, here👉https://www.cats.org.uk/kitten-con
Very much enjoyed catching up with Dilyn in Downing Street yesterday. He seemed happy my cats, Sophie and Sasha, stayed home. They are all rescue animals & I am proud our Animal Welfare Act is now law. It includes on-the-spot fine for rule-breaking owners
