RIP Dame Deborah. Her exceptional campaign to help those living with cancer won the whole nation’s admiration, and started important conversations about living with the β€˜big C’.

She leaves behind an incredible legacy, and my thoughts are with her loved ones.

I’m terribly saddened to hear that Dame Deborah James has died. What an inspiration she was to so many.

The awareness she brought to bowel cancer and the research her campaigning has funded will be her enduring legacy.

Because of her, many many lives will be saved.

(1/3) Humanities matter. As a history graduate myself, I know of their potential to open minds and transform lives.
The English courses at @SheffieldHallam have positive outcomes that are well above the OfS's proposed minimum thresholds.

Our National Plan for Music Education will provide more opportunities for children to enjoy music.

@FevershamSchool in Bradford show us how their pupils learn confidence in their musical abilities from the start of their education.

I am delighted that @nadhimzahawi has announced today what is significant support for music in schools. If we could all join forces to get music back into our schools again, it will be something that will only enrich our nation. - ALW

All children should have the opportunity to enjoy music and sports at school ⚽🏸🎻🎀

We're helping more schools like @ThealeGreen to provide an enriching curriculum that inspires young people to be active and love music πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ‘‡πŸ½

Every single day, members of the Armed Forces work around the clock to keep the UK and our allies safe.

On #ArmedForcesWeek, we salute their service.

Great to hear an enthusiastic Minister promoting learning of foreign languages as @WalkerWorcester does - including of Arabic, a language spoken by around 500 million people. He rightly wants more pupils to learn languages

⚽ It was great to have @HuddlestonNigel and @WalkerWorcester at @AgeUKHW's Walking Football group this #LonelinessAwarenessWeek.

This is one of many Age UK services #TacklingLoneliness locally across the UK.

Exams are underway for the first time in two years. Over this period young people have shown incredible resilience.

It would be a crying shame if rail unions were to actively prevent some pupils from travelling to their exams later this month just to suit their political ends.

It’s the last day of #VolunteerWeek

Today we are recognising Roxy who cooks delicious breakfasts every Friday at our Tolly Hub Breakfast Club.

β€œIt’s not just about breakfast, it’s about getting people in the community together”

Thank you Roxy, we appreciate everything you do

Tonight the PM has secured a fresh mandate from the parliamentary party.

Now we need to unite and focus on the country’s challenges. Boosting economic growth, tackling the Covid backlogs, protecting our national security, and so much more.

People do not vote for divided teams. We are strongest when we are united and focused on delivey for the British people. The PM has got the big calls right: be it on Brexit, vaccines or leading us out of the pandemic. We must get behind him & deliver on our promise to level up.

The PM has won the confidence vote and now it’s time to move forward.

Tomorrow we get back to work growing the economy and delivering better public services.

Huge thanks to Schools Minister, @WalkerWorcester, for meeting with our members this evening at Parliament, & answering questions about the future of schools policy.
