Great that 100,000 people have already checked how much they could save as a result of the threshold changes to National Insurance.

On #ArmedForcesDay I want to honour all the men and women who are serving and who have served our country.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication and for keeping us safe.

After yesterday's roundtable in Aberdeen, I hosted a Treasury Connect at the Net Zero Technology Centre @netzero_tc where I met with staff members and answered their questions on key issues including the cost of living, jobs and the future of the UK energy sector.

I’m sad that my colleague and friend @OliverDowden took the decision to resign this morning.

We all take responsibility for the results and I’m determined to continue working to tackle the cost of living, including delivering NICs changes saving 30 million people on average £330

A great pleasure to welcome Chancellor @RishiSunak to West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine today!
A great friend to Scotland and the North East. 👍🇬🇧

The energy sector is vital for the economy through the jobs it supports, the energy security it provides and for our transition to net zero.

It was great to speak with energy companies in Aberdeen about the future of the industry, including investment in North Sea oil & gas.

We're using all the tools at our disposal, and we have the determination, to combat rising prices, reduce inflation and rebuild a stronger economy.

From 6 July, National Insurance thresholds are changing, so you pay National Insurance contributions on less of your income. Find details on http://GOV.UK. A new calculator gives a broad estimate of what PAYE employees will pay:

We're motivated to help increase the digital skills and productivity in the UK, as we believe this to be important in driving economic growth.

See what @RishiSunak believes about the importance of digital skills for the UK economy

On 6 July, the NICs tax cut means that 30 million people will have their take-home pay boosted up by £330 and keep more of what they earn.

My mum was a pharmacist and my dad's a GP - the reason I became a politician is because I saw the impact they had on our local community.

It was great to visit @BootsUK yesterday and thank their staff for everything they did to help get the country through coronavirus.

Great to visit Feethams House, the wonderful new home of the Darlington Economic Campus and @hmtreasury, today. Parts of the building are ready for occupation in just a few weeks and this will be a huge draw both for people joining gov’t for the first time and those relocating.

Brilliant day today hosting Treasury Connect at the @BootsUKNews headquarters in Nottingham.

I met employees from across the business, including several Kickstarters, and took their questions on our cost of living support and plans to grow the economy.

Really enjoyed joining @Matt_VickersMP & @theresecoffey to celebrate @marksandspencer & @princestrust reaching 10,000 young people through Marks & Start.

The programme helps support skills development and creates new job opportunities across the UK. https://jobs.marksandspencer.com/marks-start

M&S News @MandSnews

Great to celebrate 10,000 Marks & Start places with @PrincesTrust @ukparliament. Thanks @Matt_VickersMP for hosting us and @theresecoffey for speaking. Great to see so many MPs join our colleagues to celebrate, including @RishiSunak

From 14 July, 8 million households will receive a £326 cost of living support payment.

This is the first of two instalments – totalling £650 – with the second to follow in the autumn, and part of the overall £1,200 support package for vulnerable households this year.

Brilliant news to kick-off @LDNTechWeek 🚀 UK startups saw the biggest annual opening on record with $11.3bn raised in Q1 2022.

This puts the UK second globally for startup investment, after the US and ahead of both India and China for the first time.

The Treasury has inaccurately been accused of wasting billions of pounds. This is not true and the proposed measures come with huge economic risks and could undermine the Bank of England’s independence.

A short thread:

Yesterday I visited @wearespeedy in Milton Keynes to host another Treasury Connect answering employees questions on our £37 billion cost of living support package.

To read about all the support available just head to the new cost of living website 👇https://costoflivingsupport.campaign.gov.uk/

We're tackling the rising cost of housing.

By extending the right-to-buy scheme to housing associations, a further 2.5 million households will be eligible to purchase their own home.

We're reviewing access to mortgages so those in 'Generation Rent' can become 'Generation Buy'.

Our new support package means...

A low -> middle income working family on universal credit with 2 children will get £4,200 this year to help with the cost of living.

http://gov.uk/government/pub…

Two weeks ago we announced new cost of living support measures.

Now, a single mother on universal credit, working full-time on the NLW gets an extra £2,500 this year to help with rising costs.

Financial Secretary to the Treasury @lucyfrazermp and Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance @yuriko_backes met today to sign a new Double Taxation Convention between our countries - this ensures cross-border trade and investment will continue to thrive in the future🇱🇺🇬🇧 @MinFinLux.

The PM has won the confidence vote and now it’s time to move forward.

Tomorrow we get back to work growing the economy and delivering better public services.

From the vaccine rollout to our response to Russian aggression, the PM has shown the strong leadership our country needs.

I am backing him today and will continue to back him as we focus on growing the economy, tackling the cost of living and clearing the Covid backlogs.

A fantastic start to the Jubilee celebrations.

Egg & spoon races, maypole dancing, banner painting & dogs. Thank you for having me Reeth Green.

This week I've been working from the Darlington Economic Campus where I met new @hmtreasury staff and toured the fantastic future offices.

I also hosted a Treasury Connect at nearby @ThornLighting and popped out for lunch with @JohnGlenUK and @lucyfrazermp.

Really enjoyed visiting AA Flags today in Consett with
@RicHolden.

This brilliant company brought employees off furlough to meet demand for England flags during the Euro 2020 final and now they're making flags for the Jubilee celebrations.
