A privilege to thank & congratulate our officers at the @PoliceChiefs Op Talla Awards for their incredible national response during the pandemic.

They kept us safe & showed their professionalism & reliability during those tough times.

Well done to all of today's award winners.

Honoured to be a guest at the @IGFupdates India Global Forum today as part of #UKIndiaWeek.

The bond between our two nations is deep and our ties have never been stronger.

We're committed to ending the abuse of our asylum system & removing those with no right to remain.

Delighted to host my friend, former US Secretary of State @MikePompeo at the @UKHomeOffice. Our nations stand shoulder to shoulder to uphold and respect our shared values and right now that could not be clearer than in our steadfast support for Ukraine against Putin’s aggression.

Important discussions with the Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, on working together to crack down on criminal smuggling gangs responsible for illegal migration, tackling illicit finance and strengthening our joint security cooperation.

Pleased to welcome @DrFarahFaizal, High Commissioner of the Maldives to the UK, to the @UKHomeOffice. Aside from strengthening the warm relationship our nations already enjoy, we had productive exchanges about our work to keep our peoples safe from ever-evolving threats. 🇬🇧🇲🇻

I’m grateful to 🇬🇧 Prime Minister @BorisJohnson for allocating an additional £1 billion for security assistance to Ukraine. 🇬🇧 is our true friend and strategic partner. We appreciate the consistent, leadership support for 🇺🇦 in countering Russian aggression.

At this @NATO Leaders’ Summit, I’ll be urging fellow nations to continue to do everything they can to support Ukraine.

The UK has always played a historic role in the @NATO alliance, working to address the biggest global threats and build a more secure world.

Today, I have waived the visa fees for two Ukrainian orchestras coming to the UK to perform at classical music events this summer, including the @BBCProms and @EdIntFest. The UK welcomes you and we continue in our unwavering support for Ukraine. #WeStandWithUkraine

Proud to have been with the inspirational Lissie Harper as #HarpersLaw came into force.

Her brave, dedicated campaign led to this landmark change to ensure what happened to Andrew never happens again, with life sentences for those who kill emergency workers in the line of duty.

PC Andrew Harper was killed protecting the public. Today, Harper's Law, named in his honour, comes into force.

This new law introduces mandatory life sentences for those who unlawfully kill emergency workers in the line of duty.

Today our new laws come into force showing our Beating Crime Plan in action to help cut crime, better protect victims & make streets safer across our country.

✍🏽 Tougher sentencing.
✍🏽 Tackling #VAWG.
✍🏽 Tackling anti-social protests.

Delivering on the people's priorities.

I pay tribute to the incredible contribution that our veterans & those currently serving in our Armed Forces make to this country, protecting our people day & night.

Including Commonwealth vets & Gurkhas who can now more easily settle here.

Have a brilliant #ArmedForcesDay! 🇬🇧

“You know you want to better your community.”

This day in 2016 saw the greatest show of democracy in British history, with 17.4 million voting to leave the EU & take back control of our borders, laws & trade. We've ended free movement, introduced a points-based system & we will continue to deliver for the British people. 🇬🇧

Good to meet President @PaulKagame in the beautiful city of Kigali this morning.

As we hand over the Commonwealth Chair-in-Office to Rwanda, our countries will be working together closely to address the most pressing global challenges.

I’ve arrived in Rwanda for CHOGM to address global challenges, from hunger to climate change, and to turbocharge trade with some of the world’s most dynamic economies.

With our shared values, history and language – the Commonwealth is a unique and vital association.

The UK will work tirelessly with our allies to bring enduring peace to the people of Ukraine.

Today we removed 28 foreign criminals from the UK with combined sentences of more than 163 years, including convictions for child sex offences and facilitating illegal entry to the UK.

The Borders Act will make it easier to deport foreign criminals to make our communities safer.

My thoughts are with the loved ones of Jo Cox MP as we remember her life, six years on from her murder – a horrific attack on our democracy that aimed to make us forget we have #MoreInCommon. We continue our crackdown on extreme right-wing terrorist groups who’ll never divide us.

We won't be deterred from delivering on our plans to do the right thing and deliver a fairer system 👇🏽

We won't stand idly by while evil gangs put lives at risk.

We won't accept that we have no right to control our borders.

We will continue to progress our 🇬🇧🇷🇼 partnership.

Since 2019, over 50,000 deadly weapons have been taken off our streets.
Helped by using:

✅ And other targeted police action.

All part of our action in protecting the public and making streets safer.

We won't be deterred from delivering on our plans to do the right thing and deliver a fairer system 👇🏽

I welcome the court’s decision in our favour and will now continue to deliver on progressing our world-leading Migration Partnership.

People will continue to try and prevent their relocation through legal challenges and last-minute claims but we will not be deterred…1/3

Inspiring day @MerseyPolice for their #VAWG plan launch with the arrest of 17 domestic abuse suspects. I met some of their 629 new recruits & dedicated unit that ensures specially-trained officers can support rape victims. Part of delivering on our priority to tackle VAWG crimes.
