(1/4) We need to do some mythbusting about the false claims that Government's quality proposals are behind Eng Lit course changes at @SheffieldHallam

This is fake news. The English courses at Hallam have outcome metrics well above the proposed minimums.

(1/3) Humanities matter. As a history graduate myself, I know of their potential to open minds and transform lives.
The English courses at @SheffieldHallam have positive outcomes that are well above the OfS's proposed minimum thresholds.

Department for Education @educationgovuk

Today marks the final day of GCSE, AS and A Level exams! 🎉

Congratulations to all students who sat exams and assessments, we're wishing you the very best of luck with your results.

Staying active is so important. That's why I'm pleased to announce that the £320m PE and sport premium will continue for another year, so that more schools like @floragardensw6 can offer their pupils enriching sporting opportunities ⚽🎾🏀🏈

I am delighted that @nadhimzahawi has announced today what is significant support for music in schools. If we could all join forces to get music back into our schools again, it will be something that will only enrich our nation. - ALW

Many pensioners are reliant on a free TV licence, which slashes the usual £159 cost to nothing.

So we're making it much easier for older people to apply for or renew their free TV licence – easing the admin burden put on over 75s.

Today is International Women in Engineering Day 👩🏽‍🔬👩‍💻

We need more women like Nabilah, Sophie and the other fantastic undergraduate engineers I met today at the @Dyson Institute, to look to careers in engineering 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Been out today in #TivertonandHoniton do vote if you haven’t yet - Helen Hurford is an excellent local candidate, lived in the area all her life and a former Head Teacher 🗳 #TivertonandHonitonByElection #Conservative @Conservatives

Tomorrow (22 June), is the Don’t Face It Alone campaign day by @DianaAward @AntiBullyingPro

I would urge everyone to share this message and #SpeakOutAboutBullying🗣 to raise awareness.

Together, we can make a change 💪🏽

That’s why I’m a strong supporter of respect being taught through our Relationship, Sex and Health Education curriculum.

We’ve also provided over £2 million to leading anti-bullying organisations, including the Diana Award.

It’s never easy to open up about these experiences, and it still isn’t.

But as Secretary of State for Education, it’s something I hope to raise awareness about and make a change.

In fact, it's by sharing problems that I managed to move forward and settle. I'm here to tell you that it does get better.

I have to pinch myself each morning when I look at what this country has given me.

But one of the greatest things about our country is the people!

I often say to others, if you share your problem, regardless of what it is, people are always there to help. And this applies to bullying too.

Coming to this country was hard, and yes, some kids could be cruel. Being a child from Iraq, I was seen as 'different'.

It’s hard to describe how I felt - anger, confusion, unfairness. Looking back, I didn’t know how to handle these feelings and emotions.

As many people know, I moved to this country aged 11, unable to speak a word of English.

Some of my first school experiences involved being called a ‘p*ki’ and even having my head dunked in a pond by bigger kids as entertainment.

It’s time to talk about bullying.

Our modern Bill of Rights will strengthen the UK tradition of freedom of speech, and better protect the public from dangerous criminals.

We are restoring a health dose of common sense into the justice system. ⤵

Success and enjoyment at university starts with good mental health, which is why I made it a priority to get students the best possible mental support. But for years the gaps between university and NHS services have been too wide. Today, @GillianKeegan and I are changing that.

#Wiltshire-based @Dyson has announced plans to create a major robotics centre at its #Hullavington Airfield #facility to work on new types of domestic robots capable of #household chores and other tasks.

It’s hard to believe that it is six years since Jo Cox was tragically murdered whilst out in her constituency.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jo’s loved ones today. #MoreInCommon

Freedom of speech at our world-beating universities is a prize we must defend and extend – that’s why we’ve bolstered our Freedom of Speech Bill to include measures which will tackle the undue influence of hostile foreign actors https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/universities-facing-new-china-cash-crackdown-76qcjcwv8]

To help British businesses to flourish and grow, and help people to beat the cost of living crisis through high wage jobs. I am rocket-boosting Degree Apprenticeships with £8m extra funding - producing work ready grads that can earn while they learn.

Great to support the excellent Helen Hurford standing to be the next MP for the beautiful Tiverton and Honiton - former local Headteacher and small business owner who will be a strong voice for her community. #TivertonandHoniton #TivertonandHonitonByElection

It’s time to move on, its time for delivery, time for cutting the NHS backlogs, time for making our streets safer and time for focusing on growing the economy and helping people as living costs go up.

One of the questions I get asked most as Education Secretary is “What does ‘TL’ stand for?” 🤔💭

It stands for T Levels, and as Education Secretary, I will make them as famous as A levels.
