Today, on the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands Conflict, we remember the 255 members of service personnel who died to protect the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands.


The Messenger Review into leadership across health and social care found that in addition to workforce pressures and a lack of development support, there continues to exist discrimination, bullying and blame cultures, with NHS staff remaining uncomfortable speaking up.

Our National Security must be maintained against all threats whether from hostile states, cyber attack, espionage, fraud or intellectual property theft. It is right that our legislation should also consider how we protect whistleblowers who act in the Public Interest.

Most heart attacks happen in a community setting and so it was fitting to open our latest local defibrillator on a Cheadle high Street!

Yesterday's £37bn package of support will ensure that millions of households get the targeted help that they need, dealing with the cost of living and helping people with their bills.

Alongside my residents across Cheadle I expect the new Lib Dem administration leading Stockport Council to deliver on election promises including the protection of our Greenbelt and ensuring our parks and green spaces are kept safe for people to enjoy.

Today is polling day for the local elections to Stockport Council. Polls are open across Cheadle until 10 p.m. and Conservative candidates are standing in all wards.

Vote Conservative to protect our green spaces, scrap the CAZ and for lower Council Tax with better services!

NEWS: Today, the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill has received Royal Assent.

The #PCSCBill, now an Act of Parliament, will protect the public by toughening sentences for the worst offenders.

The Health & Care Bill has received Royal Assent - putting health and care services in the strongest position to tackle the Covid backlog and rebuild following the pandemic.

These measures have broad support and are an important milestone in our plans to recover and reform.

On Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the 6 million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Thanks to the work of those across the world, particularly survivors, their memory and legacy will endure for future generations.

My speech introducing a Whistleblowing Bill aims to reform the law and establish an Independent Office of the Whistleblower. It is important that we have legislation in place to protect whistleblowers and ensure their safety.

On #AnzacDay we remember the 1000s of men and women from across every part of Australia and New Zealand who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend freedom and democracy. Lest we forget.

Today a motion was brought to the House to refer the Prime Minister to the Privileges Committee, due to his statements to the House regarding his understanding of the gatherings in Downing Street.

The Online Safety Bill had its second reading in the House of Commons.

It will create a safer internet that will protect children and the most vulnerable from online harm.
