Good news for Sudbury! First of all, Sudbury Post Office has reopened in the Borehamgate Shopping Centreππ»
In yesterdayβs Westminster Hall debate on βrepeat offendingβ, I underlined how our extra investment in community payback β especially through Unpaid Work β will help to ensure that justice is seen to be done in our communities. @MoJGovUK
Our modern Bill of Rights will strengthen the UK tradition of freedom of speech, and better protect the public from dangerous criminals.
We are restoring a health dose of common sense into the justice system. ‡
Really disappointing to see how much disruption the rail strikes have caused this week β but our ability to cope, by working from home where possible, has been greatly boosted by the extent of local broadband rollout.

Good to meet Energy Minister @GregHands last night with my #OffSET colleagues from Essex, Suffolk & Norfolk. We continue to express our concerns about @NationalGridβs East Anglia GREEN consultation.
Happy #SuffolkDay to all of my constituents in South Suffolk!
The reform of criminal legal aid is an absolute priority. That's why we are working as fast as possible to lay legislation in July to increase fees for solicitors and criminal barristers by the end of September.

Exams are underway for the first time in two years. Over this period young people have shown incredible resilience.
It would be a crying shame if rail unions were to actively prevent some pupils from travelling to their exams later this month just to suit their political ends.
Our consultation on the Criminal Legal Aid Review is closed. Thanks to everyone who provided constructive feedback on the future of the sector.
We will respond as soon as possible so we can implement the final proposals, including increased funding for practitioners. @MoJGovUK
Really welcome development β we can be very proud of our decisive actions arming the Ukrainian people in their brave fight for freedom.

We're helping thousands more families to resolve their disputes without the ordeal of going to court β with an extra Β£5.4m invested into our mediation voucher scheme.

We will send a one-off Β£650 cost of living payment directly to around eight million of the lowest income households.
Worth over Β£5 billion, there will be no need for people to fill out forms β we will send the payment straight into bank accounts.
Weβre putting victims at the heart of the justice system. Under our reforms, victims will have greater rights at every stage to ensure they are better heard and criminals will be forced to pay more towards vital support services to help them recover. https://twitter.com/MoJGovUK/status/1529387835148709889

Fantastic to meet the team at Wembley Police Station, where they are trialling an opt-out service of legal advice for juveniles.
Officers tell me itβs reducing the time young people are spending unnecessarily in custody, and helping to speed up cases through the justice system.
From the @ONS βfor the first time since records began, there are fewer unemployed people than job vacanciesβ.
A little after 8am will be chatting with @MarkGlennMurphy on @BBCSuffolk to discuss Pylon proposals in the constituency.

In todayβs #QueensSpeech, HRH The Prince of Wales announced our plan to table a Bill of Rights in this session.
It will strengthen our traditions of liberty, particularly the right to free speech, while adding a healthy dose of common sense & curtailing abuses of the system.
We will never tolerate Russian oligarchs or anyone else abusing our laws & courts to silence critics.
Weβre taking action to protect free speech & our free press β legal professionals have an important role to play in this fight.
