Strikes should be the last resort, and today I will deliver a speech setting out the change and collaboration needed to overhaul the industry and secure its future.

#Construction of the Colne Valley Viaduct is the latest major milestone in the delivery of #HS2. “Infrastructure is the backbone of HS2 and this viaduct will be integral to delivering faster journeys and an increased capacity rail network.” says HS2 Minister, Andrew Stephenson.

Delighted to once again take part in the Macmillan Cancer Support’s Tug of War. As a previous participant in the last Tug of War in 2019, it was great to see this annual fundraiser back on in Westminster Abbey College Gardens. Plus the Commons beat the Lords! 🥳

We need to come together as a party and focus on what this government is doing to help people with the cost of living, to clear the COVID backlogs and to make our streets safer.

We will continue to unite, level up and strengthen our economy.

Talked with @BorisJohnson. Told about the situation on the front. Received confirmation of a new enhanced defense support package for 🇺🇦. Raised the issue of intensifying work on security guarantees. Jointly with 🇬🇧 we’re looking for ways to avoid the food crisis & unblock ports.

The Prime Minister @BorisJohnson, who won a massive mandate from the British people less than three years ago, has my full support in today’s vote. He delivered Brexit, delivered on vaccines & has delivered unprecedented #LevellingUp funding for Pendle.

“I have been humbled and deeply touched that so many people have taken to the streets to celebrate my Platinum Jubilee.”
